Bringing your best physique to the stage as a first time competitor..

Here are our top tips if you’re thinking about competing for the first time..

1. Time is your best friend and worst enemy..

Always leave more time than you think you’ll need as things rarely go perfectly. Having more time on your side allows you to practice peaking strategies and utilise more diet breaks // deloads if needed!

2. Practice makes perfect..

As a first time competitor you have no past experiences to draw from in order to continue to get “better” but by simply practicing all aspects more frequently (posing, routine, stage presence etc) this will help alleviate the nerves that inevitably come along with getting on stage for the first time!

3. Invest in a coach..

Sounds ironic coming from a coach telling you to hire a coach I know … but all great athletes no matter the discipline have a “coach” in some capacity to help them be the best version of themselves. You’ll never know everything so leveraging the knowledge of others to help you get the best results possible with the least amount of hurdles along the way is one of the smartest decisions you could make
